10 things you may not know about the Kennedys

The Chicago Tribune ran this "fluff" piece on the Kennedy Clan today. Some of the comments on it were pretty interesting. (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-10-things-kennedys,0,112759.story)

For instance:

1. Gee...should we be impressed? I don't think i could have gone through my day without knowing more about this cheating, adulterer, vehicular homicide, DUI, never earned an honest dollar in his life, alcoholic, fraud or his family. Is it any wonder our world is so screwed up when a guy like Michael Jackson, a freak who could sing or Kennedy a product of the media and liberal mindset are canonized? Great senator? Really, great for what? Demonstrating how power and influence are all that matters? How ideology is more important than ones character? Here was an elitist born with a golden spoon in his mouth, given every opportunity surrounded by butt kissers and 'yes' men, inherited his senate position through corrupt politics and yet eulogized as one sycophant stated "one of the greatest senators". Makes you want to gag, Kennedy could not shine the shoes of great senators like Henry Clay or Daniel Webster.

I agree with Foxwhite 100%...and I wonder what kind of a fluff piece of garbage this article is. Here are a few more little known, but interesting, facts about the Kennedy Clan but I guess not interesting enuf to make the list: DID YOU KNOW THAT:

1. Joe Kennedy, the patriarch of this litter of miscreants, gained his fortune as a bootlegger during the Prohibtion Era.

2. Joe was a Nazi sympathizer who sided with Neville Chamberlain against Winston Churchill thus allowing Hitler more time to build up his military.

3. JFK was an adulterer and a philanderer (I guess it runs in the family) who was having an affair with Marilyn Monroe while Jackie was busy being interviewed by the "Camelot" crazy press. Also, he was involved with the Mafia, and had he not died early in his career, we might have had Carlos Gambino as the Secty of the Treasury.

4. Besides being an adulterer and a philanderer, Teddy Boy was a lush and a murderer who left Mary Jo Kopechne alone to suffocate in a car while he heroically walked back to his hotel to get some sleep, and to call the police...the next morning.

Sorry, but I cannot join those who uphold Teddy Kennedy as a model public servant, far less as a political idol of any sort. The press needs to stop making him into another Mother Theresa. He was just another two-faced hypocrite who used taxpayers money to fund his ideology...which is easy to do when you never have to worry about paying bills your whole life.
