Hiroshima and Detroit: 64 Years Later

Take a look at what 50 years of corrupt Democrat politics and powerful union domination can do to thriving economy.  What makes it worse is that people of this city aren't willing to do anything about it.

This could happen to many other cities unless we speak our voices to stop unions from buying our corrupt politicians.

Message from Jim DeMint, United States Senator

Dear Fellow Conservative:

What's happening this week in Wisconsin demonstrates how dangerously beholden the Democrats have become to their out-of-control union bosses.

Rather than vote on a measure to limit the collective bargaining power of public employee unions and ask workers to contribute more to their health insurance and pensions, Democrats fled the state bringing their government to a standstill. They completely deserted the democratic process, at the unions' bidding.

As the Democrats left town, unions deployed their workers to the state Capitol to demonize Wisconsin's Republican Governor Scott Walker. More than 600 teachers employed by Milwaukee Public Schools, the state's largest school district, even staged a "sickout" on Friday, forcing classes to be canceled.

President Obama is taking the side of the striking unions and has called Gov. Walker's reasonable proposals an "assault." His political machine, Organizing for America, is on the ground ginning up opposition to Wisconsin Republicans who are trying desperately to balance their budget.

Obama isn't the only one cheering them on. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told reporters, "I stand in solidarity with Wisconsin workers fighting for their rights." The Senate's second most powerful Democrat, Sen. Dick Durbin, has said he is "rooting" for the unions.

Make no mistake, the Democrat Party is bought and paid for by the unions.

In pursuit of cushy contracts and pensions, courtesy of the taxpayer, unions spent hundreds of millions the last election cycle to defeat anyone who stood between them and federal coffers. Public employee unions alone spent more than $200 million to defeat Republican candidates. The top state employees union, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, spent more than $87 million in the 2010 cycle.

The unions will be even more active in the next election. They are certain to go after Republicans more aggressively then they ever have before. The unions are viewing Wisconsin as a community organizing "warm-up" for 2012.

It is critical that we recruit and elect more strong conservatives who are unafraid to stand up to the unions. Public sector employee unions have a stranglehold on our national and state budgets that must be severed. We need more people in government who will fight on the side of the American people, not the unions.

The Senate Conservatives Fund only supports Senate candidates who pledge support for a National Right to Work law. No American should ever be forced to join a union as a condition of their employment. If a National Right to Work law is passed, it will significantly weaken the unions ability to shutdown the government and schools like they are in Wisconsin now.

I'll be watching the events in Wisconsin very closely. I hope you do, too. It's an eye-opening preview of what's to come in 2012 and a reminder of why we must stay together in this fight to save our country.

Respectfully,
Jim DeMint

NEED MORE PROOF?

OBAMA IS A JERK WHO HAS NEVER HAD TO.........

Thanks to Neal Boortz for this little gem:

Here's what the Liar-in-Chief said yesterday in his speech to the Chamber of Commerc:
"If we're fighting to reform the tax code and increase exports, the benefits cannot just translate into greater profits and bonuses for those at the top. They have to be shared by American workers, who need to know that opening markets will lift their standard of living as well as your bottom line."
You read that correctly, folks. "They have to be shared by American workers." How do you like that?  Now ... let's do a quick Cliff Notes review of this man as it relates to commerce and the private markets.

Barack Obama is a man who has:
  • Never had to write a business plan
  • Never had to review a business plan to determine its worthiness
  • Never had to create a budget for a private business
  • Never had to calculate the economic worth of an existing or new employee for a business
  • Never had to worry about the cost of benefits provided to a business employee
  • Never had to worry about whether or not a business was making a profit
  • Never had to explain to a boss or to shareholders why a business was losing money
  • Never had to file a business tax return
  • Never had to talk to an accountant about business matters
  • Never had to hire an attorney to deal with business matters
  • Never had to worry about the effects of government regulations on a business he owns or operates
  • Never had to tell an employee that he was being let go because business was slow
  • Never had to place a "help-wanted" ad looking for a new worker
  • Never had to look at a list of revenues and expenses to determine how much a new employee can be paid.
  • Never had to face competition from a new business down the street
.... And most importantly:
Barack Obama is a man who has referred to the private sector as "the enemy." And don't think that these men and women of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce didn't remember that line while he was reading his teleprompter in front of them yesterday.

In short ... this is a man who has no idea in the universe what it means to own and operate a business, yet there he is telling businesses that they have to go out there and figure out how they can hire more people? Is he serious? In what parallel universe does it become the purpose and overriding objective business to simply try to figure out how to hire more people?

Let's look at some of Obama's other previous utterings:
  • "At some point you just have to admit you've made enough money."
  • "You need to spread the wealth around."
  • And one of my all-time favorites: You have to raise taxes not to increase government revenue, but "out of fairness."
That's right! It's just not fair that you are earning that much money ... se we have to take it from you and spread it around.

We have an avowed enemy of the private sector .. a man with zero business experience himself .. standing up in front of a room of businessmen and telling them that they are actually in business to hire people and share the wealth. WRONG! They are in business to make money for their owners and/or shareholders. To do that they hire people who can help produce wealth, and they pay those people a competitive wage to keep them on the payroll. This, of course, is completely lost on someone who considers the private sector to be his enemy. That's OK though ... the private sector looks at him the same way.
I am reminded of that Russian Newspaper article that appeared right before Obama was elected. The Pravda newspaper ran an article, "American Capitalism Gone with a Whimper" for a title? Here's a quote from the article:
"It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people."
This article had it exactly right. Obama is the result of a "sheeple" population that was more interested in his coolness than they were in his policy or experience. We are sliding toward Marxism whether we like it or not because of our own failure as a nation to educate our electorate, allowing them to understand for themselves the danger of a man like Barack Obama in the White House.

WHEN SECONDS COUNT, THE POLICE ARE ONLY MINUTES AWAY

NEWS FLASH

Homeowner shoots would-be robbers in Home Invasion
Tuesday, 01 Feb 2011

PENSACOLA, Florida (WALA) - Three robbers armed with a baseball bat tried to force their way into the wrong house Saturday night in north Pensacola. The 72-year-old homeowner wasn’t going down without a fight, shooting two of them and sending them running for their lives.

Jack Crawford was in his bedroom watching television when there was a knock at the front door. His 70-year-old sister called for him to get it.  “I opened the door, went over here and right off the bat, he hit me with a bat,” Crawford said.

The top of his skull was split open by the blow, but Crawford didn’t go down. He drew the handgun he was holding down on the hooded and masked invaders.  “I don’t answer the door at night without a weapon, so I shot him. Shot the kid next to him,” Crawford said. “The other one was running.”  Pensacola Police later arrested the two wounded suspects when they showed up at a local hospital to get treatment.

**********
Now liberals would've preferred that the old man simply dial 911 and wait for the cops to come take care of the situation. People with rational thought capabilities that exceed those of liberals understand that this man probably would've been dead if he hadn't had that gun.  And anyone who's seen the opening scene in the movie "Law Abiding Citizen" knows what a horrific, shocking and indescribable (in words) experience this could be.

Soon Obama, or one of his liberal minions, is going to be making another speech about guns. Liberals love to obsess about guns. Why?  Perhaps it's because the use of a gun for self-defense or the ownership of a gun for the protection of one's family might be called an ultimate exhibition of individualism. Liberals don't like individualism either. In fact, it might be a rather close race as to whether liberals dislike guns or individualism the most. Remember, in the liberal world, everything worth doing is worth doing by government. This includes protecting you from thugs and criminals. Liberals simply do not want you doing something for yourself that they think the government should be doing for you.

But remember:  WHEN SECONDS COUNT, THE POLICE ARE ONLY MINUTES AWAY!

For those who haven't seen "Law Abiding Citizen" here is a link to the opening scene.  But BE WARNED, it is violent and brutal!  But if there ever was an argument over gun rights to protect your family, this is it!
