GE AND CHINA: MORE OBAMA LEADERSHIP FAILURE

Today's New York Times reports that as China strives for leadership in the world’s most advanced industries, it sees commercial jetliners — planes that may someday challenge the best from Boeing and Airbus — as a top prize.  And no Western company has been more aggressive in helping China pursue that dream than one of the aviation industry’s biggest suppliers of jet engines and airplane technology, G.E.

On Friday, during the visit of the Chinese president, Hu Jintao, to the United States, G.E. plans to sign a joint-venture agreement in commercial aviation that shows the tricky risk-and-reward calculations American corporations must increasingly make in their pursuit of lucrative markets in China.
G.E., in the partnership with a state-owned Chinese company, will be sharing its most sophisticated airplane electronics, including some of the same technology used in Boeing’s new state-of-the-art 787 Dreamliner. 

For G.E., the pact is a chance to build upon an already well-established business in China, where the company has booming sales of jet engines, mainly to Chinese airlines that are now buying Boeing and Airbus planes. But doing business in China often requires Western multinationals like G.E. to share technology and trade secrets that might eventually enable Chinese companies to beat them at their own game — by making the same products cheaper, if not better. 

The other risk is that Western technologies could help China play catch-up in military aviation — a concern underscored last week when the Chinese military demonstrated a prototype of its version of the Pentagon’s stealth fighter, even though the plane could be a decade away from production.
The first customer for the G.E. joint venture will be the Chinese company building a new airliner, the C919, that is meant to be China’s first entry in competition with Boeing and Airbus.

In addition, General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha, Wis., to Beijing. In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year. but paid no taxes-the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the united States.

So let me get this straight.   President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar).   Immelt is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.

If this doesn't show you the total lack of leadership of this President, I don't know what does.

Reuters reports today that pending sales of existing U.S. homes dropped far more than expected in April to touch a seven-month low, a trade group said on Friday, dealing a blow to hopes of a recovery in the housing market.

The National Association of Realtors Pending Home Sales Index dropped 11.6 percent to 81.9 in April, the lowest since September. Pending home sales lead existing home sales by a month or two.  Economists polled by Reuters had expected pending home sales to fall 1.0 percent.

At the same time, Money Magazine reports in this month's issue, that for the long term unemployed, things are still quite grim.  Here is a summary of their findings:

My question is, what kind of people do we vote into office that got all this in the budget in the first place? 

I can't believe no one suggested cutting the Department of Energy!  That would be the first one I would eliminate.  It was established in the early 70's to develope ways to stop using foreign oil. We were importing less than 50% of our oil at that time. Now it is almost 90%. Doesn't look like they have been too effective, does it??

President Obama:

Today I read of your administrations' plan to re-define September 11 as
a National Service Day. Sir, it's time we had a talk.

During your campaign, Americans watched as you made mockery of our
tradition of standing and crossing your heart when the Pledge of Allegiance
was spoken. You, out of four people on the stage, were the only one not
honoring our tradition.
YES, "We noticed."

During one of your many speeches, Americans heard you say that you
intended to visit all 57 states. We all know that Islam, not America has 57 states.
YES, "We noticed."

When President Bush leaned over at Ground Zero and gently placed a
flower on the memorial, while you nonchalantly tossed your flower onto
the pile without leaning over.
YES, "We noticed."

Every time you apologized to other countries for America 's position on
an issue we have wondered why you don't share our pride in this great
country.. When you have heard foreign leaders berate our country and
our beliefs, you have not defended us. In fact, you insulted the
British Crown beyond belief.
YES, "We noticed."

When your pastor of 20 years, "God-damned America " and said that
9/11 was " America 's chickens coming home to roost" and you denied
having heard recriminations of that nature, we wondered how that could
be. You later disassociated yourself from that church and Pastor
Wright because it was politically expedient to do so.

When you announced that you would transform America , we wondered
why. With all her faults, America is the greatest country on earth.
Sir, KEEP THIS IN MIND, "if not for America and the people who built
her, you wouldn't be sitting in the White House now." Prior to your
election to the highest office in this Country, you were a senator from
Illinois and from what we can glean from the records available, not a
very remarkable one.
YES, "We noticed."

All through your campaign and even now, you have surrounded
yourself with individuals who are basically unqualified for the
positions for which you appointed them. Worse than that, the majority
of them are people who, like you, bear no special allegiance, respect, or
affection for this country and her traditions.
YES, "We noticed."

You are 14 months into your term and every morning millions of
Americans wake up to a new horror heaped on us by you. You seek to
saddle working Americans with a health care/insurance reform package
that, along with cap and trade, will bankrupt this nation.
YES, "We noticed."

We seek, by protesting, to let our representatives know that we are not
in favor of these crippling expenditures and we are labeled
"un-American","racist", "mob". We wonder how we are supposed to let
you know how frustrated we are. You have attempted to make our protests seem
isolated and insignificant. Until your appointment, Americans had the right
to speak out.
YES, "We noticed."

On September 11, 2001 there were no Republicans or Democrats, only
Americans. And we all grieved together and helped each other in
whatever way we could. The attack on 9/11 was carried out because we are
Americans.
And YES, "We noticed."

There were many of us who prayed that as a black president you could
help unite this nation. In six months you have done more to destroy
this nation than the attack on 9/11. You have failed us.
YES, "We noticed."

September 11 is a day of remembrance for all Americans. You
propose to make 9/11 a "National Service Day". While we know that you
don't share our reverence for 9/11, we pray that history will report
your proposal as what it is, a disgrace.

You have made a mockery of our Constitution and the office that
you hold. You have embarrassed and slighted us in foreign visits
and policy.

We have noticed all these things. We will deal with you. When Americans
come together again, it will be to remove you from office.

President Obama and his top officials embarked on a public relations blitz last past week evidently designed to portray him as "pro growth." All such political PR pushes tend to bear tenuous relationships with reality, but in this case the gulf between the truth and what the politicians are saying is about as wide as the Grand Canyon. Say what he will, Obama's actions since his first day in office have made clear that his business is growing government. On all three basic measures of the size of government -- work force, spending, and taxes -- Obama has stimulated tremendous growth.

Take employment. In the private sector, unemployment stays stubbornly near 10 percent. Obama promised his $859 billion stimulus program would keep private sector unemployment below 8 percent, but his failure to reverse the direction of the economy on this score has been so dismal that he is now left to plead with audiences to remember that "it could be 12, 13 or even 15 percent." The president might as well have conjectured a 20, 22 or 25 percent unemployment rate; it would still just be conjecture. What is real is that, while the jobless rate rises or falls slightly from week to week, there are 7.9 million fewer working Americans today than there were in December 2007.

The story for public sector employment, however, is quite the opposite. At 4.4 percent, the unemployment rate among government workers is almost exactly half that of the private sector. But the insulation of government workers from the market realities that private sector workers face is far from the whole story. The federal work force is expanding, not contracting, thanks to Obama initiatives like a health care program that adds 16,000 new Internal Revenue Service enforcers to ensure compliance with the individual mandate. Between December 2008 and December 2009, the federal government added nearly 100,000 new positions.

And being a government worker in the Obama era can be quite lucrative, too. According to data obtained by the Asbury Park Press via a Freedom of Information Act request, last year, 1.3 million federal employees received bonuses totaling $408 million, up $80 million over 2008. Complete data for the remaining federal workers was not available, but in 2008, the Department of Defense gave $92 million in bonuses to its 687,000 civilian employees. On the salary side, the average annual federal salary is now just under $120,000, compared with $59,909 for the private sector, according to the Census Bureau of Economic Analysis. It is cold comfort to millions of unemployed Americans to hear Obama say he is pro-growth.

Obama: Socialist, Liar and now...Egomaniac-in-Chief

Charles Krauthammer, the syndicated columnist based in Washington, commented recently on the "Egomaniac-in-Chief."    He pointed out how Obama habitually refers to Cabinet members and other high government officials as "my" — "my secretary of homeland security," "my national security team," "my ambassador." The more normal — and respectful — usage is to say "the," as in "the secretary of state." These are, after all, public officials sworn to serve the nation and the Constitution — not just the man who appointed them.

It's a stylistic detail, but quite revealing of Obama's exalted view of himself. Not surprising, perhaps, in a man whose major achievement before acceding to the presidency was writing two biographies — both about himself.

Obama is not the first president with a large streak of narcissism. But the others had equally expansive feelings about their country. Obama's modesty about America would be more understandable if he treated himself with the same reserve. What is odd is to have a president so convinced of his own magnificence — yet not of his own country's.

THE LIARS AND HYPOCRITES STUMBLE AGAIN OVER GEN. PETRAEUS SELECTION

I'm sure you know by now that Obama relieved Gen. Stanley McChrystal of his command of the war in Afghanistan Wednesday because of insubordinate remarks by him and his aides in a Rolling Stone article published earlier this week.  But can you believe that this incompetent boob of a president is replacing McChrystal with Gen. David Petraeus....that’s right, this very same Gen. David Petraeus who was pillarized by the Bush hating senate Obamazombies and it's media minions for being a "sock pocket" for President Bush.

Strangely enough, MoveOn.org, the media face of the far-left, still had this Sept. 2007 ad up as of June 18, according to their Google cache. But if you go to http://pol.moveon.org/petraeus.html now, it’s gone. They kept it there for almost 3 years before taking it down....all of a sudden!

That's curious, wouldn't you say? You should check out the YouTube videos from the 2007 hearings on the viciousness of the Democrats against Petraeus---especially the lecture and grilling of the general by then senator, BO, who didn't even give Petraeus much of an opportunity to respond!  They just hated Bush so much that they were willing to sacrifice the security of our armed forces, and our country, to satisfy their own political ideology.

Now however, the BO media corp is promoting the word "brilliant" to falsify the Liar-in-Chiefs selection of Petraeus!  That's right...can you freakin believe the hypocrisy?  The media myrmidons: Chris Matthews, Olbermann, Schultz, Maddow, NBC,  ABC, CBS, MSNBC, et al, are drooling all over themselves when describing what a "brilliant" move this was by the Presidential Boob.





















George Bush was portrayed as an idiot back in 2007 for nominating Gen. Petraeus (and for everything else he did).  So now they are trying to backtrack to make BO's appointment of Petraeus look like Jesus delivering the sermon on the mount!

So they blame Bush for everything wrong with the BO presidency, but do you see anyone giving Bush credit for picking out the best qualified general to run the war in the middle East?  And now they praise Petraeus for being the second coming of Christ, and have no choice but to acknowledge that Bush was right to appoint Petraeus...BUT THEY  ARE TRYING TO GIVE THE INCOMPETENT ONE ALL THE CREDIT FOR IT!  WHAT BLATANT LIARS AND HYPOCRITES THESE OBAMACRATS ARE!

 So guys, if you're so freakin' committed hows about waiving the Jones Act (like Bush did within 4 days after Katrina), and getting the Coast Guard to stop the inane routine safety inspections of the skimming barges  that are actually doing something positive to help try and save the environment!!!
