According to Neal Boortz, it's no secret that the labor unions are disappointed with Barack Obama and the Democrats. One of the many reasons is because of their failure to pass the Unionization-by-intimidation (card check) legislation. But even if the Obama administration can't deliver on card check, they will find a way to appease the unions. After all ... Obama and the Democrats know who got them elected.

Ever heard of something called the National Mediation Board? It's a three-member panel established during the days of FDR. It was originally created in order to mediate labor-management disputes in the railroad industry. But like any good government creation, it grew. Its powers grew. Its regulatory purview expanded. As this board currently stands, two of the three members are former union officials.

So now the Obama administration is apparently pushing for new arbitration rules. These rules would help unions to gain a representation certificate so long as it wins any representation election. It doesn't have to be an vote of all the workers ... just some small group will do. Here's how the National Right to Work Foundation describes it ...

"The new procedure would stack the deck in favor of unionization by granting a union monopoly bargaining power over workers if the union 'wins' an election, no matter how few eligible workers actually participate in the vote. In fact, this means that a small bloc of workers could force union boss 'representation' on the whole group as opposed to a true majority of all workers deciding for themselves."

IT'S A GOOD THING OBAMA PASSED THAT STIMULUS BILL...or else where would we be?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The unemployment rate jumped almost half a point to 9.7 percent in August, the highest since 1983, reflecting a poor job market that will make it hard for the economy to begin a sustained recovery.

"It's good to see the rate of job losses slow down," said Nigel Gault, chief U.S. economist at IHS Global Insight. But "we're still on track here to hit 10 percent (unemployment) before we're done."

As long as Americans remain anxious about their jobs, consumer spending isn't expected to rise enough to power a rebound from the recession.

Analysts expect businesses will be reluctant to hire until they are convinced the economy is on a firm path to recovery. Many private economists, and the Federal Reserve, expect the unemployment rate to top 10 percent by the end of this year.

THE SHAME OF THE STIMULUS BILL!

Well now that the smoke is clearing and we can see what is being done with the money from the Stimulus BILL, it is quite apparent that very little of it is going to where it would actually improve the economy.

MOST OF THE MONEY GIVEN TO THE STATES IS BEING USED TO PAY FOR NORMAL DEFERRED MAINTENANCE PROJECTS THAT HAVE SHORTFALLS IN THEIR BUDGETS...AND NOT FOR ANY NEW "SHOVEL READY" PROJECTS THAT WOULD STIMULATE EMPLOYMENT!

And today we hear talk of a 2nd stimulus bill proposal....this one to actually (really & truly) to help the economy. Yeah, sure...and elephants can fly! HOW FREAKIN LONG DOES BO AND HIS CONGRESS THINK THAT HE CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS KIND OF BULLS*&T! Are there so many stupid cool-aid drinkers out there thinking that this socialist is actually improving our country with his reckless spending programs? Tell me, for example, how our hard earned tax dollars are improving our lives when they are being spent on projects like these:

1. $16 MILLION (DID YOU HEAR ME! I SAID $16MILLION) being spent on Nancy Pelosi's pet project---the Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse. SHAME,SHAME, SHAME on you Nancy Pelosi for allocating funds for crap like this when the country is hurting so badly.

2. $18 million (yes, I said $18 million) to re-do the governments website (recovery.gov) that shows where the stimulus money goes. WTF...this seems to be the type of job that a couple of college kids could do over a long weekend! Some politically connected organization is ripping us off (stealing our money) to collect $18 mill for doing this.

It is downright insulting to every decent, hardworking taxpayer to have their intelligence denigrated by BO and his minions. STOP THE WASTE NOW! FLOOD YOUR CONGRESSMAN WITH YOUR PROTESTS, ANGER AND DISGUST!

BO administration, with help from the media, continue to blame Bush for everything wrong in the country...WTF!

Biden says more US jobs on the way because of stimulus spending, Republicans remain skeptical

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration "misread" the depth of the economic troubles it inherited and still expects more new jobs in the long term as the spending pace from the $787 billion stimulus plan quickens, Vice President Joe Biden said.

Guess what, Joe, the honeymoon is over! It's time to start shouldering blame yourself. I suppose the $787 billion Stimulus package that failed (and still is) to do anything to stimulate the economy but sure added a lot pork barrel, non-stimulating spending that will surely raise our taxes didn't have anything to do with it. And the recent passage by the House of the "cap & trade Energy bill has nothing to do with it. And neither I suppose does the wanton spending by your Socialist Liar-in-Chief in the White house...having amassed over $1.4 trillion in new debt in his first 4 months in office (more than ALL presidents before him COMBINED!).

WAKE UP YOU IDIOT! We, the citizens, aren't going to be fooled into believing your spin on the economy any more. It is you who are messing it up...and stop trying to blame it on the Bush regime.

On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care -- a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm! Highlights on the agenda: ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House. The network plans a primetime special -- 'Prescription for America' -- originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate. The Director of Communications at the White House Office of Health Reform is Linda Douglass, who worked as a reporter for ABC News from 1998-2006.

Late Monday night, Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay fired off a complaint to the head of ABCNEWS: Dear Mr. Westin: As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC's astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming.

Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party's opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers.

In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime.

Once, We Would Have Called It a Scandal

There was a time when we would have called it a scandal. In 1921, oil tycoon Harry Sinclair gave several prize head of cattle and around $269,000 to President Harding's Secretary of the Interior, Albert Fall. In return, Sinclair got the exclusive rights to drill in an oil field in Wyoming. Sinclair's no-bid contract became the Teapot Dome scandal, the most notorious example of political corruption in America prior to Watergate.

Between 2000 and 2008, the United Auto Workers (UAW) union gave $23,675,562 to the Democratic Party and its candidates. In 2008 alone, the UAW gave $4,161,567 to the Democratic Party, including Barack Obama.In return, the UAW received 55 percent of Chrysler and 17.5 percent of GM, plus billions of dollars. But nobody's calling this a scandal.

2000-2008 - The UAW gave: $23.7 million to Democrats. $193,540 to RepublicansIn the 2008 presidential election, President Obama was by far the biggest recipient of UAW contributions, raking in $27,340 compared to the $10,600 given to Hillary Clinton, the No. 2 recipient of UAW money.

And so it was no surprise to the cynical Washington political class when the payback began with the Chrysler bankruptcy. In a rigged proceeding in which the federal government disregarded bankruptcy law in favor of the political outcome it desired, the Chrysler bankruptcy laid the predicate for the much larger General Motors bankruptcy to come. Against law and precedent, the unions were moved to the front of the line when it came to who would benefit from the bankruptcy.

The Obama Treasury Department strong-armed Chrysler's creditors into a deal in which the UAW was given 55 percent ownership of the company while Chrysler's secured creditors - investors who would have received priority in a non-political bankruptcy proceeding - were left with just 29 cents on the dollar. But the Chrysler bankruptcy was just a prelude to the Obama-Administration-brokered General Motors bankruptcy deal announced last week.

The GM deal is yet another example of rank, taxpayer-financed political favoritism. Once again, the big losers are GM's bondholders, who include substitute teachers in Florida and retired tool and dye supervisors in Michigan. They hold $27 billion in GM debt but are receiving a 10 percent stake in the new company. In contrast, the UAW, which is owed about $20 billion from GM, is walking away with 17.5 percent of the company and a cool $9 billion in cash. According to one analysis, while the bondholders will be lucky if they recover 15 cents on the dollar, the UAW can expect to recover up to 60 to 70 cents on the dollar - four to five times what the bondholders will receive. As Barron's Magazine wrote, "Never has an American union done so well at the expense of shareholders and creditors". "

At a Time When Some American Workers are Facing Stiff Pay Cuts, UAW Workers Gave Up Their Customary Paid Holiday on Easter Monday." Of course, the Obama Administration has assured us that the United Auto Workers has made "substantial concessions" as part of the bankruptcies that have literally saved the union from extinction. But as no less than the Washington Post put it, the "union concessions were 'painful' only by the peculiar standards of Big Three labor relations: At a time when some American workers are facing stiff pay cuts, UAW workers gave up their customary paid holiday on Easter Monday and their right to overtime pay after less than 40 hours per week. They still get health benefits that are far better than those received by many American families upon whose tax money GM jobs now depend." Union members also preserved their right to have six unexcused absences from work before they can even be considered to be fired.

It is a sign of the degree to which raw politics has dominated its handling of Chrysler and General Motors that the Obama Administration has a 31-year-old who has not yet graduated from law school determining the fate of two multi-billion dollar companies.For their political support of the Democratic Party, the auto unions have been rewarded, not just with ownership stakes in two giant companies, but with ongoing protection and subsidization by the U.S. taxpayers.

The President has said repeatedly that he wants to get out of the auto business as soon as possible. But does anyone seriously believe that he would accept an arrangement in which GM becomes profitable at the expense of the union and its gold-plated benefits? Having spent $50 billion to "save" GM and the UAW, does anyone really believe that the Obama Administration will now allow economics and not politics to dictate its future decisions?

In the GM and Chrysler bankruptcies, the Obama Administration has trampled on the rule of law. It is using the taxpayers' money to pay back a political group for its political contributions. There was a time when we would have called that a scandal.

A simple explanation of the jobs saved by BO's stimulus package...or how we lost more jobs with the stimulus package than had we done nothing at all.

When pushing the stimulus package, President Obama claimed that the stimulus would save 3 million jobs. How have his predictions turned out so far? This video in a very simple way compares those predictions with how the plan has worked out so far.

Stopping Obama's Health Care Takeover Must be Our Top Priority

This health care bill is the focus right now and ought to be the focus of everybody's energy to oppose and to prevent it from happening. Because if they get it, ladies and gentlemen, it will allow them to regulate and control virtually every aspect of our lives. Not to mention raise everybody's taxes, which will further choke off any economic recovery. It is obscene and it is absurd what is being attempted here. And I'm telling you, anybody with a brain understands it isn't going to work. It's not going to provide any real solutions for health care problems today. It's going to make health care worse. It's going to make the budget deficit worse. It's going to make the private sector worse. It is going to destroy, if it happens, even further the American economy as we have all come to know it and, for most of us, have lived it.

On The Economy

I listened to a little audio of Obama with a cabinet meeting today, and he was talking about the recession being worse. And he said, essentially, it was all George W. Bush's fault. He said circumstances beyond his control when he assumed office blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I am infuriated when I hear that. This is gutless. President Obama, it's time to stand up and be a man -- and men who are six months into office do not continue to blame their predecessors. You, sir, have committed far more egregious budgetary errors than the Bush administration could have ever dreamed of. Mr. Obama's financial plans, his economic plans are an unmitigated disaster that are destroying the United States economy. There is no other way to put it. There is no previous president in this country who set out to do what Barack Obama is doing. No president in the history of this country sought to destroy the economy of the United States of America. Barack Obama must want that to happen because that's what his policies are doing, and today he doubled down on them. He is not retracting them. He is not trying an alternative. He is doubling down on that which has led us to 9.4% unemployment. Even today he's speaking about how the good the news in unemployment is, that "only" 345,000 people lost their jobs last month, as opposed to 600,000 the prior month. So this is good news? Never mind that we've reached a 25-year high in unemployment. Never mind that not one program of his has help anybody revitalize their own economic fortunes. His policies have put nothing but boulders and obstacles in front of everybody.

Obama speeds projects to create, save 600,000 jobs

President Barack Obama said on Monday he expected to create or save 600,000 jobs over the next 100 days by expediting 10 major projects funded by a huge stimulus package that Congress passed in February.
"We have a long way to go on our road to recovery, but we are going the right way," Obama said. His statement came three days after a Labor Department report showed the U.S. unemployment rate rose to 9.4 percent in May, even though the pace of monthly job losses slowed to 345,000.

"We will not grow complacent or rest. Surely and steadily, we will turn this economy around," Obama said.

What he meant to say was: "Surely and steadily...we will burn this economy into the ground." And as for "speed" I see nothing but higher unemployment and a sinking economy to show for the $787 billion stimulus bill passed in Feb. The only speed I observed was the speed his administration and congress displayed in getting the pork-laden stimulus bill passed.

President BO's team is lying about the "budget
cuts" in Obama's 1,500-page, $3.5 trillion budget.

They are not cutting the budget. In fact, Obama's
budget is over $400 billion larger than President
Bush's 2009 budget and $100 billion larger than
the bloated budget resolution Congress just passed!

The fact is, the budget Obama released this week is
basically the same budget his team released two months
ago in "outline" form...

--This is the largest budget ever proposed by a President
with the largest deficits in American history.

--It adds over $9 trillion to the national debt --
doubling the total debt accumulated from the start
of our country through the Bush presidency.

--It includes the massive socialized healthcare program.

--It even ignores the $3.4 trillion budget Congress passed
and reverts to Obama's original $3.5 trillion budget.

What about those "budget cuts"? As the Chicago Tribune
reported, the "news" of the budget cuts grabbed the
headlines even though the supposed "cuts" were all
in Obama's original budget!

There is nothing new. No new budget cuts. Obama has simply
repackaged his bloated budget -- ignoring Congress' budget
resolution -- in terms of supposed budget cuts.

Obama fed this headline to the liberal media and they ran
with it. Sadly, Republican leaders are trying to downplay
the supposed budget cuts when, in reality, THERE ARE NO
CUTS IN THE BUDGET! Help expose this blatant, manipulative lie that is designed to portray Obama as a fiscally minded
budget cutter when, in fact, he is the biggest spender
EVER to sit in the White House. AND HE IS A BIGGER LIAR THAN CLINTON!

Government Ponzi Schemes

The following is excerpted from "IMPRIMUS," a publication of Hillsdale College (hillsdale.edu).

    The first of the baby boomers started signing up for early retirement under Social Security last year.  Two years from now they will start signing up for Medicare.  All told, 78 million people are going to stop working, stop paying taxes, stop paying into retirement programs, and start drawing benefits.  The problem is, neither Social Security nor Medicare is ready for them.  The federal government has made explicit and implicit promises to millions of people, but has put no money aside in order to keep those promises.  Some of you may wonder where Bernie Madoff got the idea for his Ponzi scheme.  Clearly he was studying federal entitlement policy.

You can read the full article at www.hillsdale.edu - and you should.  Think about where the money is going to come from to meet these obligations that our elected officials so graciously granted to seek the approval of their voters, and how much deeper in debt it will sink our future generations.  Piling this onto the enormous debt BO has already passed, it is readily apparent that during their lifetimes our children and grandkids will be working longer and harder, receiving fewer benefits, paying much higher federal and state taxes and, in all, enjoying a much lower quality of life than we have now.  But then, isn't that what socialism is all about?

BO scores high marks for first 100 days

In his first 100 days, Pres. BO got superior grades from the media and his liberal supporters. As I thought more about it, I felt they left out a number of categories in which he also got a grade of "A." Some of these are:

- Telling many more lies than Clinton did in his first 100 days.
- Creating a new era of government dependence on US citizens.
- Taking the first "World Apology Tour."
- Re-aligning the US to a Marxist/Socialist model.
- Making the US the focus of all world evil.
- Enhancing the lack of transparency in all government affairs.
- Indenturing our children and grandkids with enormous debt.
- Exposing our country to a flu pandemic by not yet naming a Surgeon General and not having an emergency plan that could immediately be put into effect.

So congratulations BO, Liberals and Media myrmidons...keep up the great work in destroying everything that has made our country great.

Notre Dame's invite to Obama is an outrage!

OBSERVATION FROM THE BEACH: My undies really got bunched when I heard that Notre Dame invited BO to be it's commencement speaker at it's graduation ceremony in May.  Here is one of the outstanding Catholic institutions in the country compromising it's principles in order to continue it's tradition of inviting Presidents to speak before its graduates.  Never mind that BO is the most anti-life, pro abortion President in the history of the country, that he voted 3 times while still in the Illinois Senate in favor of killing babies that somehow survived abortion attempts, and included taxpayer funding of stem-cell research in his stimulus bill, spineless Notre Dame Administrators blow an outstanding opportunity to make a statement to the entire country that it does not condone BO's positions on life.
