HERE IS a listing of countries that now have better credit ratings than the United States. Countries who are considered less likely to default on their debt than the United States of America. Sad and pathetic display. All of the following have AAA ratings. We now have a AA+ rating, which is a step lower.

• Denmark
• Finland
• France
• Germany
• Hong Kong
• Liechtenstein
• Luxembourg
• Netherlands
• Norway
• Singapore
• Sweden
• Switzerland
• United Kingdom

All of those countries are considered safer bets than the United States.
Bonus: Countries with credit ratings at the same level as the United States.

• Belgium
• New Zealand
